POLITICS&MUSIC
Mr. Prime Minister
A song which aims digging into childhood of all the politicians, especially former prime minister Erdogan's while the voices started to raise from Istanbul and then spread to entire Turkey which was a big energy explosion, a rebel act was named “Gezi Park Resistance” in 2013. It is a Freduian approach which made the song go viral “Tell us Mr. Prime Minister! Who didn't love you when you were a kid?”
Berkin's song, Beddua
It is the second work the artist Hüseyin Badilli published after the Prime Minister song. Many innocent citizens were injured or murdered by the police during the protests and one of them was a little boy: Berkin Elvan. A bitter lament that is cursing the poverty and politics. I wrote the song that the day Berkin died after staying 269 days in coma. I didn't want to record it cause it didn't feel right at first. But when I visited the windmill that I get flour to bake sometimes my own bread, I just remembered that Berkin was on his way to the bakery to get bread for the breakfast. I wanted to record the song in this historical windmill in Rotterdam.
Ayna/Mirror
It is the very first work that I investigated sexism, homophobia and the hypocrite behaviors of the societies when it comes being LGBTQ. A song, dedicated to the victims of hate crime and honor killings.
I've been lonely since 1982 on Valentine's Day
It's a song that I made fun of my “loneliness” especially on such a day every year. It's jazzy and a funny song.

The Reviews
“The beginnings of a new scene? Safran presents a glowing, ambient and modern vision of jazz. The best song is Tarhu Taksim - Koyverdin Gittin Beni – a seven minute triumph of endurance in which Hüseyin, more than in other songs, searches for his own colour and finds it.”
Jair Tchong - Fret Magazin July/August 2012
“A very successful fusion jazz project.”
Kudsi Erguner
“Hüseyin Badilli’s voice is known for its power, ability, expression and feeling. His arrangements and compositions retain a respect for all of the styles he draws from.”

CURRENT WORKS/LIVE
CD "The lucky one"
"The unique sound of Hüseyin's voice takes you on a mellow, dark and intimate journey between Rotterdam and Berlin, with a chain of songs based on the love story he had with the person named “The Lucky One”. It creates a lush vibe with a combination of live instruments and eclectic vocals, effects, synths and programming. As an artist with a double master’s degree on vocals in different styles he is putting his skills in the service of delivering a delicate story. Hüseyin is creating an album that is stylistically in line with the recent work of Antony and the Johnsons, James Blake and Sufjan Stevens' more recent output. "
